Hello! I’m Julia Bocanet, a contemporary jewellery designer, goldsmith and educator working for nearly 10 years between craftsmanship, historical research and conceptual design in Amsterdam, The Netherlands.
My work is known for translating narratives into timeless jewellery pieces through a poetic and research-driven approach. Each commission is a transparent one-on-one process, beginning with your story and wishes.
What to expect? I propose a series of sketches, followed by space for feedback and refinement. Once the final design is agreed upon, the piece is crafted entirely by hand and delivered to you together with images documenting the making process.
Depending on the project, the process may include the creation of a prototype, an in-person meeting to select gemstones from a hand-picked selection, or incorporating hidden messages through engravings.
If you are interested in having your story translated into a bespoke piece of jewellery, please reach out via email: info@juliabocanet.com.
These are only a few examples of previous bespoke pieces.

Boulevard is my bag design for Dutch luxury brand Maeden, inspired by my Classic Ring series and general approach to jewellery. The hidden seems and flowing lines were developed with the goldsmith’s craft principles in mind, translating them to the craft of leatherwork.
Boulevard is currently being sold as a crossbody at multiple department stores worldwide. See www.maeden.nl for an updated stocklist and all colourways of this design.
